today is jan 27, 2021 bob Melnar and i went on a snowshoe hike to the rio grande river trail area
the low temperature early this morning in Bristol Head Acres was -26.5 degrees.
This is the lowest for this year and the lowest i have ever seen it here in BHA is -32 degrees. when we started snowshoeing at 11:00 A.M. it was - 1 degrees. It was pretty cold as we started down the steep hill behind the Kraft's house. Luckily for us there was no wind and we did follow a broken packed trail which Bob and I put in yesterday afternoon. Yesterday was a very windy day so we didnt get to the Rio Grande river ice so today we broke trail all the way down to the river and snowshoed up river toward the middle creek road fisherman area.
it was a magnificent fantastic utterly spectacular blue sky day and the visibilities had to be at 100 miles all the mountains all around the cabin were buried in snow especially the big La Garita massive ridges that you see when i look out my big living room windows. i am posting some photos from that trip on this blog
