Winter snow still here

                         I am here in BHA for another week.  It is amazing how much snow is still piled up around all the area in BHA.  I arrived here on Friday April 5th 2019.  It was really nice to be able to drive all the way near the front door step.  When I was here in March Ray Kemper came with a snow plow and plowed out one half of the driveway and he made a cut toward the front doorstep which really worked out so good to finally get all the gear into the house through the front door.

                          This was so helpful for Gina and Mark Bibeault who stayed here for their Spring Break vacation during the last week of March.  Also it was very helpful for Cindy Wyley who came to clean the cabin after Gina and Mark left to go back to New Mexico.


                          I am hoping to post more pictures of all the snow here in BHA and up near Spar City where I went snow shoeing  yesterday.  I was able to get about a mile in on the Fisher Hut road before i had to turn around as it was hard in the mushy snow as i didnt get started until late in the afternoon

                       today is jan 27, 2021 bob Melnar and i went on a snowshoe hike to the rio grande river trail area                       the low temperature early this morning in Bristol Head Acres was -26.5 degrees.                       This is the lowest for this year and the lowest i have ever seen it here in BHA is -32 degrees.      when we started snowshoeing  at 11:00 A.M. it was  - 1 degrees.  It was pretty cold as we started down the steep hill behind the Kraft's house.  Luckily for us there was no wind and we did follow a broken packed trail which Bob and I put in yesterday afternoon.  Yesterday was a very windy day so we didnt get to the Rio Grande river ice so today we broke trail all the way down to the river and...

                 it is now January 21st 2021  and as usual i havent added any comments or added any pictures of any thing that happened thru end of 2019 or any thing that happened in 2020. i am at a loss as to how to add pictures to  the blog which i did easily in 2019  Luckily my son Vince was able to help me find the solution to adding pictures to this blog today jan 23 2021 this is what i learned from Vince.  i have taken thousands of pictures from 2019 to 2021 and  there are many choices to add pictures  #1 google makes it easy to just pull up google photo albums and select the pictures from the thousands of photos in the 2007 albums to 2021 albums which are all filed by years  and #2 you can pull up pictures from the computer desk top which i get by loading photos from an SD card into the desk top folders   so the first pictures i did were from the google photo albums my grandson loaded in for...

Snow shoe trip along the Rio Grande river

               I went on a snowshoe trip down and along the Rio Grande river.  I went up river not quite two miles.  It was such beautiful scenery along the way as all the mountains and ridges all around the valley  were buried in snow.  there was about 36 inches of snow i was traveling over so all the fences were buried.  Usually in a normal snow year one has to cross the fence some how but this year icould just step over the last strand of barb wire that was barely sticking out of the snow.
